UNTUCKit Opens in Pinecrest — Retailer’s First Northeast Ohio Location
Cushman & Wakefield | CRESCO’s Shawn Fortner represented casual men’s apparel company, UNTUCKit, in the search for their first Northeast Ohio location. After an extensive exploration, the company chose Pinecrest as their destination, with an opening date slated for later this Summer. Founded in 2011, the New York based company has been rapidly expanding over the past few years to locations throughout the Midwest, including 2 Ohio locations in Columbus and Cincinnati.
The move signifies a growing trend for retail in Northeast Ohio. With the rise of online shopping and subsequent decrease of larger retailers and big box stores, mixed-use districts like Pinecrest are popping up to meet the growing demand for consumers who want a more diverse and unique shopping experience, and online retailers who still seek a brick and mortar presence.
“Retail in Cleveland isn’t growing or shrinking, it’s evolving,” said Fortner. “As big box stores and departments are winding down, smaller and more hyper-focused concepts are gaining popularity. Many brands that started online are realizing what an impact a brick and mortar presence can have on their sales and overall success. Their customers want a different kind of shopping experience that mixes local with niche national brands and offers dining and entertainment. Places like Pinecrest are becoming the ultimate destination for both.”
UNTUCKit will join other niche retailers such as Tailored Epiphany, Vineyard Vines, Warby Parker & Thread – all considered emerging brands that are a critical component to the overarching retail strategy at Pinecrest.
“UNTUCKit is a stylishly innovative brand that aligns perfectly with the retailer mix at Pinecrest,” said Fairmount Properties’ Chief Investment Officer, Eric Louttit. “This latest addition brings greater depth to our men’s fashion offerings and is an experience we believe will truly resonate with our shoppers.”
“I was thrilled to be a part of bringing such an exciting brand to our Cleveland market,” continued Fortner. “Our retail industry is starting to make noise again; tenants who may have at one time never considered Cleveland are starting to take a closer look. And as more places like Pinecrest are developed, the more we become an attractive destination for growing businesses.”
